# Error while accessing or saving values to the database

Hi All,  
ODK2.0:  
When adding or changing the variable in worksheet survey. It throws the following error: “error while accessing or saving values to the database”. Could you please help me there?

Hi @nsthakuri!

So when you change the survey you need to make sure to hit purge database, otherwise it will get very angry because maybe, for example, q1 used to be an integer and now it is a string… that is usually what this error message means.
