Screen Headers in ODK-X Survey

1. What is the general goal of the feature?
When prompts are grouped in ODK-X Survey using “begin screen” and “end screen” in the XLSX converter, show an optional screen header. This could be taken from another column on the “begin screen” line in the XLSX file.

2. What are some example use cases for this feature?
If the prompts that are grouped all relate to a subsection of the overall survey, a label at the top may allow the individual prompts to be shorter and more precise. For example: I am collecting a meter number and reading for a meter being removed, as well as for one being installed. I could label at the top of each screen which meter the inputs on that screen is for.

3. What can you contribute to making this feature a reality?
I don’t know any of the languages used for ODK-X, but would be happy to help with testing.

Hi @mcrider! Thanks for the suggestion and your willingness to help test!

I am wondering if the same result could be achieved just by putting a prompt type of note with this information at the top of the screen? That’s what we did when starting sections.

Hi @elmps2018! Thank you for the idea - it looks like that will accomplish what I had in mind.
