Our app was developed with version 2.1.6 of the Application Designer, and now with v. 2.1.7 available, it seems like a good idea to update. However, I’m unclear on the steps needed for doing that without messing up or overwriting our existing code. Can you point me to the instructions that describe the correct approach?
On a side note, would it be possible to develop something like an “update wizard” that takes some of the guesswork out of upgrading?
In terms of updating the app designer, you can download the new app designer, delete the unneeded default files (grunt empty), copy over your tables folders within config>tables, and then copy over anything customized (framework, csv) into the config>assets (sub-) folders. Then re-convert everything (grunt xlsx-convert-all) and your app designer should be set. Will need to update software on tabs and server to the same version as well.
